BirdBreeders.com is a directory and marketplace that connects people looking for birds with independent breeders. This page explains what we collect and why. BirdBreeders.com, LLC operates the site.

What we collect

• Account details — name, email, password, and optional phone when you register.
• Breeder profiles — company name, location, logo, descriptions, species, policies, and membership dates.
• Listings — photos, video links, prices, diet, disease-test notes, and other listing fields you submit.
• Messages and waitlists — conversations between buyers, breeders, and support, plus waitlist requests.
• Payments — membership and bird purchases go through Stripe or PayPal. We do not store full card numbers. Those processors receive the payment details they need to charge you.
• Usage — pages viewed, listing views, and basic device/browser data used to run and secure the site.

How we use it

• Show public listings and breeder profiles.
• Let you save favorites, follow other members, message breeders, join waitlists, and complete orders.
• Bill memberships, process bird payments, and pay breeders through Stripe Connect.
• Moderate listings, reviews, reports, and — where a report, a safety concern, or a support request from one of the participants makes it necessary — messages.
• Email you about your account, orders, or messages, and — if you follow breeders and leave it on — a weekly digest of their new or refreshed listings. Every digest has an unsubscribe link.

What is public

Breeder profiles, live bird listings (including photos and video links you add), reviews, location at city/state level, and follower/following lists on those profiles are visible to anyone. Do not put a home address, private phone, or payment instructions in a listing description if you do not want that public.

Sharing

We share information with:

• Stripe and PayPal to process payments and identity/account onboarding.
• Azure hosting and blob storage to run the site and store images.
• The other party in a message, waitlist request, or order.
• Law enforcement if we are legally required to.

We do not sell your personal information.

Text messages

If you give us a mobile number for text notifications, we use it to send you those texts and nothing else. We do not sell, rent, or share mobile numbers or text-message consent with anyone for their own marketing, and no third party receives them for that purpose. The number is passed only to the messaging provider that delivers the texts on our behalf. It is never shown on your public profile and never given to buyers.

You can stop the texts at any time by replying STOP, or by unticking text messages on your profile. Reply HELP for help. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. What we send and how to opt in.

Cookies

We use cookies for sign-in, theme preference (light/dark), and listing view (grid/list). You can block cookies in your browser; the site may not stay signed in.

Your choices

• Edit your profile, listings, and notification settings while signed in.
• Remove saved favorites at any time.
• Ask us to close an account or delete personal data that is not required for orders, tax, or dispute records. Email support@birdbreeders.com.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
